Digital Talent Engine

A new logo and brand for Digital Talent Engine, seeking to connect employers with graduates in the tech industry

 

The Brief

Creating a new campaign, brand and portal for Dynamo North East, who have the overarching goal to ‘Grow the North East Tech Economy’. They aim to create an active community that works with employers and education providers to develop the skills needed to enable new talent to enter the digital sector.

This new brand will be used across digital and social channels, and an online portal will connect employers and employees.

Approach

Our role is to raise awareness of the opportunities within the digital sector and demonstrate the transferrable skills needed. The new brand and strategy will target job seekers, graduates, and employers looking for new employees in the digital sector.

The first concept aims to be simple and approachable, incorporating the Dynamo orange with a vibrant colour palette. The icon depicts an arrow pointing north, combined with a spark to symbolise the talent and opportunities in the North East.

Second concept

The second concept leans into the digital side while achieving a modern look. Using imagery of people in their new roles, plus imagery that depicts the North East.

 
 

Final brand

With the 1st concept chosen, we developed this approach by using the brand shape but as a window. The icon can be used in conjunction with imagery of people and the North East. This final approach uses cutouts of candidates and employers bursting out of the brand icon, combined with a strong gradient background.

 

Online Presence

The new website will cater to several target audiences: those looking for new talent and those looking for a new role. The key feature will be the sign-up feature that will find talent or opportunities in the North East for a user based on their specific filters. The site will provide recommendations, as well as insightful blog content to enable users to achieve their goals.
